Goodbye Summer!

Another summer season has come and gone, but the Hanover Seaside Club is still open and available for members use.  Meals will not be served this week.  The meal schedule will resume on Sunday, September 11 with the buffet lunch at 12:30pm.  For the month of September, breakfast will be served at 9:00am and dinner at 6:30pm.  Be sure to call in advance for reservations.  If enough reservations are not received to make meal preparation economically feasible, meals will not be served. The snack bar is closed for the season; however, the downstairs area will be open each day.  Bring a picnic lunch or supper and come to the beach to enjoy the cooler temperatures and lack of crowds.

Keep checking the calendar for events during the fall.  Also, be sure to check the Member Section for additions.  You are notified by e-mail when a new blog post is made, but not when changes are made to the calendar or when items are added to the Member Section.

If you have information items or pictures you would like to add to the website, contact the webmaster using the contact form under Member Section.

Thanks to Stephanie Carter for the images used in this post.

Hanover Seaside Club Prepares for Hurricane Irene

In preparation for Hurricane Irene, all kayaks should be removed from the boating area as soon as possible.  Sailboats need to be tied down to prevent them from blowing.  The Hanover Seaside Club is NOT responsible for any kayaks, sailboats, boats or other personal property left at the pier.

The seafood dinner scheduled for Friday evening has been canceled.  Breakfast will not be served on Saturday.  Please watch this blog for posting of further cancelations.

Let’s go surfin’ now . . . Everybodys learning how!

Due to the long waiting list for surfboard lockers, construction is underway for 28 new longboard lockers on the north side of the Club.  These lockers are built to hold longer boards, over ten feet, so we would like to use the new lockers ONLY for the longer surfboards.  The cost of the longer lockers will be $100 per year.  We will be trying to contact those who currently rent a surfboard locker to see if there is a need to move to the longer lockers. The Board has approved holding 4 lockers for those renting rooms on the 3rd floor.  The cost for weekly rental will be $20.  The lockers for 3rd floor guests can be reserved on a first come – first served basis by contacting Mollene.

If you currently have a locker and would like to move to the longboard locker, please contact Mollene or Deak Walden.  Once it is determined how many and what size lockers are available, people from the waiting list will be contacted. There are currently 45 members on the waiting  list, so we will try to build more lockers in the near future.

We are also researching the possibility of adding more chair lockers on the property. More on that later!
