Fall Merchandise Preorder!

FALL MERCHANDISE PREORDER!

It’s time to get ready for cooler weather! We are offering fall merchandise by preorder only. This year, instead of sending your order to me, we will be using an online store. I think you will find it very easy to place your order. You have the option of picking your order up at the Club, or having it shipped.

We have chosen very high quality shirts. The long sleeved tees are the same that we used last year – the thicker cotton shirts. The 1/4 zip and hoodies are the same we have used in the past. .All shirts will have the HSC logo on the front upper left. It will NOT have the Celebrating 125 years under the logo. The back of the shirt will have the beautiful line drawing of the Club from the ocean side – exactly like our tees and sweats from the last 4 years. We picked out a variety of styles and colors so hopefully everyone can find something they like. Sizing information is located in the online store if you are unsure about what size to order.

The online shopping cart will be open until Labor Day – Monday, September 2. You will pay online through a secure site. Shirts can NOT be charged to your Club account. Once you complete your order, a receipt will be mailed to you. Since these are special orders, all sales are final.

To check out our online store click on this link:

https://shop.theklempire.com/hanover_seaside_club/shop/home

Your options are shown below. If you have questions, message Elise Beall on Facebook or e-mail me. The front desk can provide you with my e-mail address

NEWS ~ AUGUST 13, 2024

CROSSING LIGHT: The new crossing light at the sound is working well. Please remember, just pressing the button does not stop traffic. There are still drivers who speed down Waynick and do not stop for pedestrians. Be careful out there!

SEASONAL MEMBERS: If you have been a Seasonal Member for 5 years or more, did you know that you can apply to become a Regular Member? If you are interested, simply fill out the Application to Convert from Seasonal to Regular Membership form located on the Quick Links page of the website. Return it to the front desk in an envelope marked for Membership Committee. When there are spaced available, the Membership Committee will review the applications on file to bring the number up to Constitutional limits. Regular members are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of Regular Members and vote on proposals. They can also serve on all committees of the Club and run for office. We need Regular Members who are willing to volunteer for committees, work on annual work days, volunteer to run for the Board, attend Annual Meetings, etc. Dues and Dining Room Minimum are the same for Regular and Seasonal Members. The only difference is that Regular Members can be assessed. However, to my knowledge, there has not been an assessment since at least World War II and that was not a true assessment.

MEALS: Have you used your Dining Room Minimum? The season is coming to an end, so be sure to come for a meal or two or eat in the Snack Bar. Upcoming menus:

Monday ~ Fried chicken or pulled pork

Tuesday ~ Tacos/taco bowls and enchiladas

Thursday ~ Fried chicken breast with bacon and cheese or meatloaf

Friday ~ Fried flounder or fried shrimp

Baked or grilled entrees are available upon request. Anyone having dietary restrictions should let the front desk know when reservations are made.

A childrens’ menu is also available upon request – chicken tenders, hot dog, or grilled cheese with fries are offered.

Reservations for weeknight meals must be made by 2:00 on the day of the reservation.

BINGO: The last Bingo of the summer season will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00. Tim and Brandi Batchelor are calling. Be sure to come and bring a prize! It’s going to be fun.

PORCH PARTY: Members have raved about our Porch Parties this year. Be sure to come to the final party on Saturday, August 31 from 6:00-9:00. Bring your favorite beverage and an appetizer to share! Music by Vince’s Steel Drum.

SUNDAY PRIME RIB LUNCH: Sunday, September 1 is the last Sunday Prime Rib and Grilled Shrimp Lunch of the season. Call for reservations by the Friday before at 5:00. These lunches fill up quickly so call early to ensure that your family can enjoy this delicious meal!

SNACK BAR HOURS: The rainy weather we have had over the last few weeks has affected our Snack Bar Hours. When the Snack Bar hours are going to be changed, a message is placed on our Facebook page. This is also a good place to find out what’s going on quickly. If you do not use Facebook and the weather is overcast/rainy, call the office to find out if the Snack Bar is open.

FALL PREORDER: Be sure to check your email and the blog for information on our fall merchandise preorder.  Information should go out in the next few days. We will be offering long sleeved tees, hoodies, 1/4 zips, and crew neck sweatshirts in a variety of colors. This year we will be using an online store where you order and pay. Pick up will be at the Club. We will offer shipping for those members who cannot pick up. Prices will be available when we open the online store.

PARTY ON THE PORCH! Saturday, July 27 6:00-9:00

Come enjoy a beautiful summer night with your Club friends! Food by T’Geaux Boys Food Truck. Music by Izzy McGill!

WALKWAY: Our new(ish) walkway is beautiful and gives us extra width and the deck on the ocean. Such a great improvement but be careful – the walkway is HOT! Be sure to wear shoes/sandals/flip flops when walking over to the beach. The gate at the end is made to be hands free. You can push from both sides with a beach bag, chair, or your arm or hip.

CROSSWALK: Thanks to a lot of work by Jan Shephard, Dan Harris, and others we finally have new signage and blinking lights at the crosswalk on Waynick Blvd! On each side of the street, there is a button that you push to make the lights blink so that traffic will know someone is crossing. The parking space has been removed on the sound side so that oncoming traffic can more easily see pedestrians and the flashing light. We feel sure that this signage will improve safety for our members.

MEMBER STATUS: Are you turning 70, 75, or 80 this year? You may be eligible to move to a different membership status if you have the appropriate number of years as a member. The form to complete is under Quick Links on the website. If you completed a form in the past and checked a box that said you would like to automatically move to the next membership status when you hit the applicable age, you will still need to complete a new form for each membership status change. Our software does not have a method to automatically change membership status.

CODE FOR FIRST FLOOR DOOR: The oceanside door on the ground floor has a numerical lock. If the Club is locked, you may go to that door and enter a code to enter the downstairs. When you leave, please be sure to turn off all lights and lock up.  If you need the code, call when the office is open.

MEMBER ACCOUNTS: Many members have outstanding charges on their accounts. If you have charged meals, snack bar, or merchandise, please pay your bills! If you are registered at www.hanoverseaside.club, you can log in, click on member central, statements and click pay online. If you cannot pay online, simply call the Club office for your balance and pay with a credit card.

ROOMS: At present, there are no rooms available until the week of August 24-31. If you don’t have school children, this is a perfect time to vacation at the Club. The following rooms are available:

August 24-31 – 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 If you stay this week, you can extend your reservation through Labor Day if you choose. You may reserve rooms for less than one week 30 days from the date of move in. There is a two-night minimum for all reservations.
